Give Surfaces a New Treatment with Decorative Concrete

Concrete is amazing stuff! It can be poured, molded, colored, textured, polished, and formed in myriad ways, and then becomes rock-hard once cured. Decorative concrete has been one of the fastest growing areas of the building trades since the 1980’s and for good reason. You can achieve spectacular results with creative concrete finishing. Here are some of the techniques we can offer you.

Decorative Concrete Services Include:

Concrete Stamping

Stamped Concrete has been growing in popularity as an outdoor paving choice because it can mimic the appearance of slate, flagstone, tile or brick at a much lower material cost and far less maintenance. While the concrete is still soft, patterns are impressed into the surface to create textures and patterns. Other decorative concrete techniques are often combined to color or treat the surface to complete the look.

Concrete Coloring

A world of possibilities open up when applying concrete coloring to your project. Coloring is added to the concrete before pouring, making it possible to combine different colors by pouring slabs one color at a time. The resulting design adds a unique, geometric aspect to your concrete that would be difficult to achieve with other methods. A wide variety of colors and shades are available, including blues, greens and reds.

Concrete Polishing

Polishing concrete creates a surface that adds a smooth as glass surface to your concrete slab. Polishing is often combined with concrete coloring or staining for a dramatic effect, and the degree of polishing can be controlled to create a dull luster or a high gloss that never needs sealing or waxing.

Concrete Staining

Stained concrete is achieved by adding a colorant to cured concrete that penetrates the surface, infusing it with various shades of tinting. The resulting appearance is somewhat unpredictable due to the way stain reacts to the various compounds in concrete but generally, the results are rich and luminous, enhancing the appearance with subtle shading and texture that would otherwise go unnoticed.

Decorative Concrete Overlays

If your old concrete is in good shape, but you want to get rid of that drab appearance, you can restyle your concrete with decorative concrete overlays. Concrete overlays have the appearance of stone or tile at a much lower expense. The overlays can be thick or thin, depending upon the application and clearances. Slabs are first prepared with a polymer coating that fills in small cracks and imperfections, then concrete overlays are adhered to the primed surface. Concrete overlays are not just for floors, they can be used on walls, too!
